PIT CLOTH - half linen

The pit cloth has a special history. The darker, almost sinister design has a very specific reason. These black pit cloths were formerly used in mining. The miners used the cloth to dry their daily laundry. Due to the dark colors, the black coal dust was not immediately visible!

The pit towel was brought back to life today and is a tea towel for young and old! It fits perfectly into the modern kitchen! Despite our modern dishwashers, a traditional tea towel is still a wonderful and essential addition.

The design is a small square and on two long sides a striped edge with a little red completes the design. It is extremely absorbent and dries very quickly. This natural product with a timeless industrial look lets you dry off in style without leaving streaks. Before first use, the towels should be washed 2-3 times at 60°C.

Anyone who has ever dried a glass with a clean linen cloth knows what a difference it can make. Linen is obtained from the flax plant. Flax - an extraordinary resource-saving and sustainable plant. She likes particularly lean soil and does not need fertilizer. Flax is undemanding and does not require artificial irrigation.

care instructions

• Wash 2-3 times before first use
• Use lots of water and fill the machine only halfway. Linen needs a lot of water! It is best to soak linen laundry overnight and wash with plenty of water. If necessary, add water to the porthole
• Avoid optical brighteners. To wash your linen products, use liquid detergents for delicates without optical brighteners or bleaching additives
• Low spin speeds. Set the lowest spin speed. If you “save” on the spin cycle, ironing will be easier and the fibers will be protected
• Wash up to 60°C. White and natural linen can be washed at 60°
• Not suitable for the tumble dryer
