Cashmere is the fine, warm undercoat of mountain goats that live at high altitudes in Mongolia, China or Iran. The yield of raw cashmere is up to 500g per animal per year . The fineness, color and length of cashmere differs depending on its origin.

Only cashmere with an average fineness of between 14.5-18.5 microns and a good length is used to produce these cashmere blankets. The finer, longer and lighter the hair, the more valuable the material.
