We are pleased that you have chosen a handmade sisal carpet. In order to enjoy your carpet for a long time, please follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions below:
- For standard cleaning of your rugs, please use a vacuum cleaner with a smooth nozzle, not a brush or similar attachments.
- Please turn your carpet twice a year by simply putting it "on its face" and turn it once around its own axis, so that the carpet wears evenly and additionally a kind of self-cleaning occurs, where small particles can fall out of the carpet.
- If individual threads stick out, simply cut them off flat with scissors.- Since the sisal fiber is a natural plant fiber, you should be careful with wetness, otherwise there is a risk of color change, the formation of waves or shrinkage. Therefore, cleaning by spray extrusion method is also not recommended. We therefore rather recommend cleaning with dry foam, by an appropriate specialist company.
-If you really do have wet damage, you should dry the area slowly with a hair dryer and weigh down any waves that may have formed with an object after drying. (e.g. books)
- Should a stain appear, quick action is usually the best solution. In the case of solid dirt, let it dry first and then carefully loosen it with the back of a knife and vacuum it up. In the case of liquids, first soak up quickly and dab with a paper towel, then squeeze out or soak up the water with a damp cloth or sponge. For after-treatment, treat with an appropriate stain remover.
