The SONNENGLAS ® stands for sustainable, ecological design. This was already taken into account when developing this product. The aim is to leave the world better than we found it. This means developing the SONNENGLAS ® to such a high quality that it functions for as long as possible and leaves the smallest possible ecological footprint.
The principle of this solar light is both simple and ingenious: During the day, when there is sunlight, the integrated solar module in the lid of the glass stores the solar energy. As soon as dusk falls, the glass is full of sun and ready to release this energy in the form of light. When fully charged, you can use the light for up to 30 hours almost anywhere.
The SONNENGLAS ® is ideal as a solar lantern, garden lamp, for a romantic table setting, barbecue parties, camping, for decoration, for eating outdoors... simply for all outdoor activities where you want to create a cozy, idyllic evening atmosphere after sunset.
The lamp is weatherproof and can be left outside when it rains.
The glass creates an atmospheric light, creating an island of light that shines differently depending on what it is filled with. The handle serves as a magnetic switch to turn the lamp on or off. The lamp is produced in a fair trade project in South Africa and is extremely popular in the townships there. An iconic lamp that makes life there a little safer.
If the sun isn't shining, you can alternatively charge the battery with a USB-C cable.

The solar modules of the SONNENGLAS® Generation 6 are fully
functional and become the ultimate and handy solar lamps for your pocket.
They are more versatile and powerful than ever before.
The new Generation 6 solar modules have been completely redesigned and re-engineered.
They are up to 5x brighter, are continuously dimmable and shine for about 30% longer at the same brightness.
The new solar electronics in combination with even more powerful solar cells (developed in Germany) make charging up to 25% more efficient in low light.
Despite all the features, the new modules are around 25% slimmer and fit in any pocket. Thanks to their flat form factor and reinforced housing, the new solar modules are versatile and are the perfect companion for outdoor use and can be adapted to any situation.
The Generation 6 solar modules are the biggest development step since our foundation. The "optional" removal of glass enables use in more remote regions. This brings us one step closer to our vision of providing even more people with sustainable light.
